Volunteer Trustees

Become a trustee and help us make a difference in our local community

Our trustees are looking for new members of the Board as part of our succession planning.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about tackling poverty and inequality to help steer Walton Charity to deliver its five-year plan. If you can commit at least two hours a month to help make a difference to our local community, we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for people from the widest talent pools. Previous Board/ trustee experience is not necessary, and we welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds. We would particularly like to hear from applicants with the following experience:

  • Strong financial skills with the ability to help further develop the Charity’s strategic plans and ensure long term organisational sustainability.

  • Experience of working with disadvantaged children and families (in particular through working in the voluntary or grant-making sector).

  • Lived experience of poverty and disadvantage.

You should also have some knowledge of, and an interest in, the borough of Elmbridge - the geographic area served by Walton Charity.

Trustees meet a minimum of six times a year for Board meetings. We also have two sub-committees and several working groups.

Reasonable out of pocket expenses are paid.

Full details can be found here. If you are interested, please contact Jackie Lodge, Chief Executive.
